South Korea 2027 intake: requirements for Bangladeshi students

South Korea is one of the fastest-growing study destinations for Bangladeshi students. Universities offer bachelor’s and master’s programs on the D-2 student visa, and selected universities link tuition scholarships directly to your IELTS score. Here is what you need for the March and September 2027 intakes.

Academic requirements

• Bachelor’s: HSC GPA 3.50 or above.
• Master’s: bachelor’s CGPA 2.56 or above, generally with a passing year of 2018 or later for the programs we offer.
• Korean/English language programs (KLP/ELP): SSC and HSC GPA 3.50+, with an HSC passing year between 2023 and 2026.

Your study gap and age are part of the assessment, so it is worth getting your profile checked before you pay any application fee.

English: IELTS or interview

For bachelor’s programs and scholarships, IELTS matters. For selected master’s programs, universities can assess your English through an interview instead of IELTS. PTE is not accepted on the pathway we currently offer.

Scholarships linked to IELTS

• IELTS 5.5: up to 30% tuition scholarship
• IELTS 6.0: up to 40% tuition scholarship
• IELTS 7.0: up to 50% tuition scholarship

These apply at selected universities and depend on the program and intake, so they are not guaranteed, but they show why half a band of IELTS improvement can be worth a lot of money.

Budget and bank statement

• Application fee: roughly BDT 5,000–10,000 depending on the university.
• Tuition: roughly BDT 2–4 lakh per semester.
• Initial budget: roughly BDT 6–8 lakh.
• Bank statement: approx. BDT 25 lakh for degree programs (approx. BDT 15 lakh for language programs), in a savings account with around 4 months’ maturity.
