The study abroad document checklist for Bangladeshi students

Study abroad document checklist

Most delays in a study-abroad application come from documents: a missing transcript, an expired passport or a bank statement that does not meet the requirement. Start collecting these early. Every Alpha student gets the same checklist inside the student portal, where you can upload each item and see when it is approved.

Identity

  • Passport valid for the full length of your course (renew early if it expires soon).
  • Recent passport-size photos with a white background.
  • Birth certificate / NID copy, if requested.

Academic

  • SSC certificate and marksheet.
  • HSC certificate and marksheet.
  • Bachelor’s certificate and full transcript (for master’s applicants).
  • Attested copies, where the university or embassy requires attestation.

English

  • IELTS test report form (or the accepted alternative for your program).
  • Medium of instruction letter, if your university accepts it.

Application

  • CV / résumé.
  • Statement of purpose written for each program.
  • Recommendation letters (usually for master’s).

Financial

  • Bank statement and solvency certificate meeting the destination’s requirement.
  • Sponsor’s letter and income documents, if a family member is sponsoring you.
  • Tuition deposit receipt, after you receive your offer.

Tips

  • Scan everything as clear PDFs. Phone photos at an angle often get rejected.
  • Use the same spelling of your name on every document as on your passport.
  • Keep originals safe; you may need them at the embassy or on arrival.
